HEAT SOURCES: Indirect Tanks

Indirect hot water storage tanks are typically constructed with stainless steel or glass lined tanks and a 2" min polyeurathane foam insulation layer covered in a plastic jacket. Most have a low standby losses of .5 degrees per hour, with an internal corrosion resistant tubular heat exchanger. Indirect hot water storage tanks do not have a burner or firing chamber.

Indirect hot water storage tanks are connected to the boiler system and are an excellent choice when used in radiant floor heating systems with condensing boilers. With their high recovery rates, low standby losses and domestic hot water priority feature, they are hard to beat with a stand alone system.
